Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan is working hard to impress coach Antonio Conte as a mezzala, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has struggled to make an impact under Conte this season, only making four appearances for a total of 41 minutes.
In this international break Nainggolan has remained in Milan and is working hard, yesterday featuring in the friendly win over Monza. The former Roma man worked well as a mezzala and is hoping to convince Conte to give him a strong chance in the run-up to Christmas.
Nainggolan was close to a move to former home Cagliari this transfer window, but a deal never materialised despite talks continuing until the dying hours of the market on deadline day.
Last season, the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder impressed with the Rossoblu whilst on loan, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
