Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is at risk of being out for a few weeks if the injury that he picked up during the Croatian national team’s Nations League win over Austria is confirmed to be a thigh strain.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old will be assessed by national team medical staff today to shed more light on the nature of his injury.

Brozovic had to leave the pitch less than twenty minutes into Croatia’s Nations League clash with Austria, with medical staff helping him come off as he was in some visible discomfort.

The midfielder was bound to miss out on Inter’s Serie A clash with Roma one way or another as he had picked up a suspension for the match, but now the worry for the Nerazzurri will be that he could be ruled out of further matches through injury.

If the Croat has picked up a thigh flexor strain, similar to what has kept teammates Romelu Lukaku and Hakan Calhanoglu out of action in recent weeks, then he could miss a few weeks as he recovers.
