Inter Miami goalkeeper Nick Marsman has called on his teammates to 'demand more from each other' but believes the club is heading in the right direction.

The Herons are bottom of the overall standings after a disastrous start to the 2022 MLS season, taking just a single point from their opening five fixtures and losing their last four games.

Up next is a home clash against Supporters' Shield holders New England Revolution. Speaking to reporters ahead of that match, Marsman revealed the Inter Miami players are working hard for each other, but believes they could still show more.

“Although we had some losses, I think we have a very good group that really wants to work, has a lot of energy, and wants to help each other," said the former Feyenoord goalkeeper.

"In the last week, we’ve talked a lot with each other. I think we have to go through the barriers and demand more from each other. We spoke a lot about that, but I don’t like to only speak, we have to show it out there.”

Though they're propping up the rest of the Eastern Conference, MLS can change very quickly and a run of positive results would soon see Inter Miami fly up the standings. For Marsman, it's now all about gathering that all-important 'momentum'.

“We have to get our momentum and gain confidence," he added. "I think it’s a lot about confidence and helping each other. Now for us, it’s about getting the details right. I think we’re close. But now we really have to show it.”
