Club América have proven to not only be one of the best teams in the entire continent but one of the most resilient as well as they are once again in the Liga MX final after successfully overturning a two-goal deficit in both quarter-final and semi-final second legs.

While América could extend their Mexican record by claiming their 14th title, these top performances have many clubs from around the world looking to poach their talents.

One of those is David Beckham’s new club Inter Miami FC, who are gearing up for their inaugural campaign and want to have a heavy South American influence on their roster.

It’s no secret that Roger Martínez plans to leave América soon and on Monday, The Athletic reported that Inter Miami will attempt to make the 25-year-old Colombian their second ‘Designated Player’.

The new MLS franchise previously signed 19-year-old Argentinian winger Matias Pelligrini to a Designated Player deal and are expected to be in contention to land River Plate starlet Exequiel Palacios as well.

It’s believed Martínez will go for a fee in the $15-20m range.
