It was time for Orlando City SC. By beating Inter Miami CF 4-1, they jumped to fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Inter Miami CF previously had been the bane of Orlando City SC. But their recent match presented the opportunity for the Lions to beat them. This time they seized their chance and came away with a 4-1 win.

Besides the needed three points, Orlando moves to fourth place in the MLS East, dropping Miami to their previous position of sixth. This gives the Lions their first-ever season sweep of Miami, scoring 7-1 across their two meetings this year.

It was a momentum game for Orlando City. The focus and mental preparation sorely missing from previous matches this season exploded onto the pitch in this meeting.

The game started with furious offensive energy from the Lions, which remained constant every minute. At the two-minute mark, forward Luis Muriel scored with an assist from Martin Ojeda. Miami midfielder Yannick Bright equalized in the fifth minute.

The draw held until early in the second half, when Orlando opened the offensive gates fully again. Muriel netted the game-winning goal in the 50th minute, then got the first assist alongside defender Robin Jansson as Ojeda got his score only eight minutes later.

It was Ojeda’s 17th goal of the season, extending his club record for goal contributions in a single season across all contributions to 34. He also has the club record for goal contributions in consecutive matches with 14 across all contributions.

Winger Marco Pasalic made sure everyone heard from him during regulation with a score in the 88th minute. That was his 13th score of the year and the first in MLS since July 5.

Muriel now has six goal contributions in the last two games across all competitions.

Orlando City SC players are beginning to peak. They’re in the top tier of the MLS Eastern Conference. They’ll stay there and go even further as performance and focus increase.
