Ahead of Inter’s Champions League match at home to Barcelona, Inter manager Antonio Conte has spoken with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

“We want to progress. It will be important in terms of experience and growth to progress in the Champions League especially for the players who will play in front of 80,000 people against a prestigious team in Barcelona,” he said.

He was then asked if the team need to send a message to those who booed them following the goalless draw with Roma last Friday.

“Absolutely no messages need to be sent. My path here at Inter is constructive. Every time I speak and I see certain situations I want to be constructive for the good of Inter. People can accept that or not but my goal is to make the players grow and Inter competitive again.”

In conclusion he was asked about the last time the sides met and how things have changed since then.

“It has been a long time, the players have changed. Our goal is to play with courage and we must be careful and know how to suffer and then hurt them when we have the ball.

“We know what situations we need to exploit. It is an important and difficult game and we hope to not have any regrets at the end of the game. “
