In today’s paper edition, Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at the differing views that Inter manager Antonio Conte and the club leadership hold when it comes to how they see Arturo Vidal.
“When he looks at Vidal, Antonio Conte sees the eleven league titles won in his career, he remembers the warrior with whom he faced any battle with when he was at Juventus,” it begins.
“When Beppe Marotta and the rest of the club leadership look at the Chilean instead they see his more than €8.5 million annual salary, a 32-year-old and someone who could bring trouble in the dressing room. In short, they do not see the same player.
This season Vidal has made 11 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona for a total of just 453 minutes on the field, a significant decrease compared to years gone by. Despite his limited action, Vidal has still contributed three goals and also provided one assist.
