Inter Looking For Long-Term Successor To Edin Dzeko But Won’t Sign Gianluca Scamacca For €40M, Italian Media Report

Inter are looking for a striker who can replace Edin Dzeko in the long term this summer, but would not move for Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca at the €40 million asking price.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are on the lookout for a player with the profile to take over from Dzeko who would be better value than the 23-year-old.
Inter are thinking about building their attack for next season and seasons to come, with Lautaro Martinez set to be kept at all costs to build around and Paulo Dybala likely to arrive on a free transfer.
Dzeko is a unique profile within the Nerazzurri’s squad as a tall and physical striker who is capable of leading the line and bringing teammates into play in the final third.
Given that the Bosnian turns 37 next season and has just one season remaining on his contract, the club want to sign a similar player to be his long-term heir.
Scamacca has the right technical profile for the role, but given that the Neroverdi have not wavered on their €40 million valuation, the Nerazzurri could look elsewhere.
