Inter-linked Lorenzo Insigne is seriously considering his future, with the Napoli captain having told his teammates that he is considering leaving his current club.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 30-year-old would consider a move away amid stalling contract talks with the Partenopei, and Inter are getting ready to pounce.

The Nerazzurri are still looking for one final attacking signing to complete the forward line available to Simone Inzaghi, and Insigne has rapidly come onto their radar with the news that the winger is currently unable to come to an agreement with his club on an extension of his deal which is set to expire at the end of June 2022.

Inter are currently willing to put forward an offer of €15 million plus Alexis Sanchez to capture the Neapolitan, and the next step will be to make more serious contact with Partenopei Preisdent Aurelio De Laurentiis to see what it would take to sign the winger.

Napoli are currently thought to be asking €30 million to let Insigne go, but given that he could potentially leave next summer for free should he not his extend his contract, and would be free to start negotiating with clubs in January about the possibility of doing so, the Campania club’s hand could be forced and they could lower their asking price.

The Partenopei are not reported to be interested in a cash-plus-player offer involving Sanchez, but could be tempted should Inter offer midfield target Matias Vecino as part of a deal, though their preference would be all cash.

The Nerazzurri are also considering other attacking targets, with Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata and Lazio’s Joaquin Correa serious considerations, but they are now getting ready for the very real possibility of a move for Insigne.
