Inter are one of only three teams in Europe’s top five divisions who have three players on 10 or more goals in all competitions so far in 2023-24, alongside last year’s treble-winners Manchester City and LaLiga title-chasers Real Madrid.
Lautaro Martinez leads the way for the Nerazzurri with 20 goals, 18 of which have come in Serie A, plus a further two in the Champions League.
Hakan Calhanoglu currently ranks second in Inter’s internal goalscoring charts thanks to his recent penalty against Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana. He also has one in Europe and nine in the league.
Marcus Thuram is also on double figures, largely thanks to his eight Serie A strikes. Like Calhanoglu, he also has one Champions League goal and added another in the Lazio game on Friday.
Inter’s goalscoring trio currently have more goals between them than Real Madrid’s most productive players in 2023-24. Jude Bellingham has 17, Rodrygo has 12 and Joselu has 10 for a combined total of 39. Martinez, Calhanoglu and Thuram have 41 all together.
Only Manchester City’s trident of Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden can do better. They have 19, 13 and 11 goals respectively for a combined total of 43.
