Lele Oriali refused to be drawn on Tuesday when asked about his future with the Italian national team.

Inter’s former midfielder is expected to leave his position as the Azzurri’s team manager after this summer’s European Championships.

No official announcement has been made so far, but Oriali insisted it was a decision he would take further down the line.

“I’m happy to be here with Italy,” Oriali, who is also Inter’s team manager, told reporters today as quoted by ANSA (via FcInterNews.it).

“These are considerations that will be made later on, after I’ve spoken with the Italian Football Federation president (Gabriele Gravina) and Roberto Mancini.”

Inter brought Oriali back to the club in 2019 following the appointment of Antonio Conte as head coach.

Conte worked with Oriali during his two years in charge of Italy, which ended in a quarter-final appearance at Euro 2016 in France.

Oriali made 398 appearances in a 13-year playing career at Inter, scoring 44 goals and helping the Nerazzurri win two Serie A titles.

He recently admitted to being ‘worried’ about next season, with uncertainty hovering over Conte’s future at the club.
