Inter held off a late push from Genoa to win their 12th straight match in all competitions and move 15 points clear at the top of Serie A.

After Juve's loss to Napoli over the weekend, Inter were looking to pounce and put even more distance between them and their chasers at the top of the league.

They got off to a flying start Monday night against Genoa, taking a two-goal advantage after a goal from youngster Kristjan Asllani and an Alexis Sánchez penalty.

Genoa responded well after the break however, cutting the home side's lead in half with a strike from Mexican international Johan Vásquez.

The champions elect held on to their lead however, fending off a late push from the visitors to earn all three points and extend their already sizable lead at the top of Serie A.
