Inter forward Joaquin Correa is set to miss the rest of the calendar year with a thigh injury, according to Italian media.

This from today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the thigh strain that the Argentine picked up during yesterday’s Serie A win over Roma will rule him out until 2022.

Correa had to go off during the second half the match at the Stadio Olimpico yesterday, being replaced by Alexis Sanchez midway through the half after he went to ground holding his leg.

Initial tests revealed that the 27-year-old had suffered a strain to the flexors of his left thigh, though further tests will be needed to reveal the full extent of the injury.

Given that nature of the issue, as well as the fact that the player looked to be in some pain on the bench after coming off, Tuttosport report that the injury will almost certainly keep him out until after the new year.
