Inter forward Alexis Sanchez will not be joining River Plate this summer as he wants to spend more time playing in Europe, according to a report in the Chilean media.
As has been reported in his native Chile by La Tercera, Alexis Sanchez wants to spend two more seasons in Europe as he clearly still feels he has a lot to offer in a more competitive environment.
Fans of River Plate in Argentina had been excited at the prospect of Alexis Sanchez returning to the club in Buenos Aires who he played for in the 2007/08 season.
He is destined to leave Inter this summer once an agreement has been found for severance pay as he still has a year left on his deal.
Despite not having any other club lined up as of yet, he has politely declined the advances of River Plate. There has been interest from Barcelona for the Chilean forward as well as some Italian and English clubs.
