Inter will have to make one major sale during the summer transfer window, but will still make signings in order to remain competitive for the Serie A title.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the club directors and President Steven Zhang met with coach Simone Inzaghi today and confirmed that a big name sale will be financially necessary but also reassured the coach that the squad will still be competitive.
Inzaghi met with the directors and President Zhang at the club headquarters earlier today, and the meeting lasted for around five hours and saw the coach and club officials confirm the transfer strategy heading into the summer window.
Zhang made it clear to the coach that a sale will be necessary by the dictates of owners Suning, but also ensured him that their ambitions have not changed and that major signings will arrive to make up for the sale.
It remains to be seen which player will be sold, as the meeting just worked out that a major sale will be made.
