With Koni De Winter joining Milan and Giovanni Leoni headed to Liverpool, Inter must pivot toward different targets to rejuvenate their backline and have shortlisted Oumar Solet and Loic Badé, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Nerazzurri decided to exercise their clauses to retain Francesco Acerbi, Stefan De Vrij, and Matteo Darmian, who are all well over 30, last spring. They focused on different roles earlier in the window. They are now open to selling Benjamin Pavard and have received multiple offers for Yann Aurel Bisseck.
Galatasaray’s interest in the Frenchman is genuine, and Inter ask for €15/20M. The veteran wouldn’t oppose his transfer after a two-year stint in Milan. Instead, the brass needs a bid that blows them away to cash in on his younger teammate.
The Nerazzurri have been keeping an eye on Solet since he moved to Serie A. Udinese have so far repelled all proposals, having already sold Jaka Bijol. Furthermore, he’s been under investigation for sexual misconduct since May, which, in addition to his sizeable price tag, has contributed to deterring his suitors.
Badé is under contract with Sevilla until 2029. His side recently turned down a €30M bid from Bayer Leverkusen but didn’t outright rule out his sale.
This should have been a bigger priority in the early going. They should have let go of one of their older players if they really needed the room. It’s also where they could use fresh legs rather than on the two ‘braccetti’ positions. At this point, if anything happens, it’ll probably be a lateral and cost-effective move rather than something big.
