The Simone Inzaghi era at Inter got off to a winning start during the first pre-season match of the season.

With a new-look line-up missing multiple starters, the visitors struggled to make an impact during regulation time.

Goals from Sandi Lovric and Mickaël Facchinetti put Lugano up 2-0 by the 35th-minute mark before a Danilo D’Ambrosio header pulled one back three minutes later.

After the break, Martín Adrián Satriano made it 2-2 to make everything level. Then later on around the 90-minute mark, Milan Škriniar thought he scored the winner before seeing it ruled offside.

All square, the match went to penalties where Inter prevailed 4-3 thanks to the efforts of goalkeeper Ionut Radu.
