With their win against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi yesterday, Inter reached 24 Serie A games without failing to score a goal, equalling a longstanding record.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, who report that the Nerazzurri have gotten on the scoresheet in each of their last 24 league fixtures, something which they haven’t done since the 1949-50 season.

Between the second half of last campaign and the beginning of this one, Inter have proved to be formidable in front of goal, not only in terms of scoring prolifically, but also in terms of the consistency with which they’ve found goalscoring solutions.

They needed goals to get anything out yesterday’s clash in Tuscany, starting the second half 1-0 down, eventually netting on three occasions to overhaul the deficit and bring three points back from the match.

The goals were all-important in the present because they kept the Nerazzurri’s strong start at the top end of the Serie A table going from a tough situation, but they also maintained a statistical record which could even be broken should the Nerazzurri find the back of the net against Atalanta at the San Siro on Saturday.
