Inter could be tempted to swoop for Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic, as a return to former club Juventus appears to be increasingly difficult.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Spanish outlet AS, Barcelona are desperate to offload the Bosnia international after just a single season as they attempt to drastically reduce their wage bill, and would be willing to allow him to leave for free.

Whilst Juventus had been suggested as the most likely suitors for Pjanic, his €8 million wages are proving to be a deterrent and the Bianconeri would only consider bringing him back if they can sell Aaron Ramsey.

This has prompted AS to suggest that Inter could move ahead with an approach for the 31-year-old, with the Nerazzurri currently keeping a close eye on his situation.

CEO Beppe Marotta was instrumental in bringing Pjanic to Juventus from Roma in 2016 and could look to reunite with the midfielder at Inter, whilst he is being considered as a replacement for Marcelo Brozovic.

The Croatia international only has a year remaining on his contract and has yet to renew, potentially forcing Inter to cash in this summer and bring in Pjanic as an alternative.
