Inter’s directors have asked owners Suning to allow a little more money to be spent on signing a central defender once Cesare Casadei and Andrea Pinamonti are sold.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio are awaiting the owners’ response to their request that some money be reinvested in one more defensive signing.

Inter’s incoming transfer business is largely done, but they are targeting one more arrival in the form of a defender who can back up Stefan de Vrij following the departure of Andrea Ranocchia.

Meanwhile, the club’s plan looks to be to cash in on the likes of Casadei and Pinamonti in order to get some way towards their financial target for the transfer window, although they are hoping to keep hold of Milan Skriniar.

The cash influx from sales of Casadei and Pinamonti will be much-needed, but the directors are hoping that a bit of it can still be put towards finding the right player to complete the depth at the backline, and they have asked for exactly this.
