Inter are not sitting at the top of the Serie A table by accident with them leading no less than nine performance metrics, an Italian media report has highlighted today.
Inter have scored the most goals (57), the highest expected goals mark and the best shots to goals ratio, Gazzetta dello Sport have pointed out in today’s print edition.
Moreover, Antonio Conte’s in-form Nerazzurri are leading the way in terms of distance covered on the pitch with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic ranking highest among individual players in Serie A.
Inter also have the most assisted goals (34) as well as the most key passes in the Serie A, along with the most headed goals in the league and the most crosses completed.
Gazzetta argued that all these statistics showed Inter were playing a style of football which has very much been studied and planned, rather than just improvised.
Conte’s side are four points clear of AC Milan after last weekend’s comfortable victory in the Derby della Madonnina.
