Inter are hoping to fend off Lucien Agoume’s suitors by tying the midfielder down to a new contract in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said Agoume wanted to play for the Nerazzurri under Antonio Conte next season after he returns from his season-long loan at Spezia.

Inter would want €15-20 million to sell the midfielder, with Bayern Munich still interested after making an enquiry for Agoume earlier this year.

The Nerazzurri do not intend to sell 19-year-old though and plan to offer him a new three-year deal in the summer.

Agoume is currently under contract with Inter until 2022 but his reported contract extension would keep him tied to the club until 2024.

Inter are convinced they have ‘a little champion’ on their books in Agoume and could give the Frenchman the chance to nail down a spot in the first-team squad next season.

Agoume has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Spezia and could feature against his former club tomorrow when Vincenzo Italiano’s side welcome Inter to the Stadio Alberto Picco.
