Inter Could Keep Stefano Sensi With Joaquin Correa Out Injured For About A Month, Italian Media Report

Inter could decide to keep midfielder Stefano Sensi in their squad for the rest of the season with Joaquin Correa set to miss around a month with his latest thigh injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 26-year-old is seen as an option to fill out the squad with options currently limited in attack.

Correa had to leave the pitch early in the match during the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia clash with Empoli on Wednesday, with the Argentine having been determined to have suffered a strain to his left hamstring.

Subsequent tests have confirmed that the 27-year-old will likely take about a month to recover, leaving the Nerazzurri with three strikers in their squad.

Sensi has proven himself capable of filling in as an attacking midfielder in the front line and could be trusted as an option to ensure that the Nerazzurri have sufficient attacking options across the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old had initially looked all set for a loan move to Sampdoria having met with new Blucerchiati coach Marco Giampaolo, but now the situation is up in the air for him.

The Nerazzurri are also considering the fact that if Nicolo Barella is suspended for both legs of their Champions League clash with Liverpool then they could find themselves light in both midfield and attack.

The player’s own decision could be important, as he could wish to depart for Sampdoria for the rest of the season in search of more playing time, but he could also have an important role at Inter.
