Inter are monitoring Koffi Djidji’s situation at Torino as they consider making an approach for him when his contract expires at the end of the season.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri are in the market for a centre-back and have identified the Ivorian as a low cost option to bring in ahead of next season, particularly with doubts surrounding the future of Stefan De Vrij.

Djidji viewed as an ideal back-up player who could slot into Simone Inzaghi’s three-man defensive system when required, and serve as a squad player to allow rotation for the first choice options.

Inter are also keeping a close eye on Roma defender Chris Smalling, with the England international also approaching the final months of his contract and potentially available on a free transfer in June.

The former Manchester United defender may yet decide to commit his future to the Giallorossi, but Inter would see him as more of a first team regular than Djidji, should he join.
