Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has suffered a strain to his thigh.

This is confirmed in an update on the Nerazzurri’s official site, which announces that the 33-year-old has suffered from the muscular injury, though does not yet give any further details on the extent of the injury or how long the recovery period will be.

Mkhitaryan made his debut for Inter coming off the bench during the second half of their 2-1 win over Lecce over the weekend.

However, the Armenian could be ruled out for the Nerazzurri’s next match at home to Spezia and possibly beyond that depending on the seriousness of the thigh strain that he has recently picked up.

Mkhitaryan had also been carrying a muscular problem when he joined Inter from Roma on a free transfer at the beginning of the summer transfer.
