Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be closely scrutinized by the club over the next couple of matches even though he continues to have to work without Romelu Lukaku in attack.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the coach is running out of excuses even as he continues to desperately miss his main man in attack.

Inter are hardly expecting Inzaghi and the team to be perfect over the two Champions League clashes with Barcelona and the league fixture against Sassuolo next weekend.

This is particularly the case given Lukaku’s continued absence as well as that of Marcelo Brozovic and the potential to lose Lautaro Martinez as well.

Nevertheless, the coach cannot lean on the injury excuses forever, and the feeling is that the next two or three match will have a significant bearing on whether or not the club decides that the 46-year-old can continue on as head coach.
