Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi wants his team to show that they can come back from a tough defeat against Lazio over the weekend when they host Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Italian tactician has emphasized the important of giving a better account of themselves against the Moldovan side than they did on Saturday to his players.

Inter looked to be in control for around an hour against the Biancocelesti, but they unravelled during the second half and had no answer to a resurgent opponent who earned a 3-1 comeback win.

Inzaghi will be frustrated with the nature of the defeat, and he has been preparing for the Champions League clash during the week with a view to the players redeeming themselves.

For players who participated in the Lazio match, training has been less intense to avoid fatigue given the close proximity of the two matches, while non-participants are training at full intensity.

The entire team will barely have time to catch their breath or think after the Lazio defeat and must move on to a match which is virtually must-win for their Champions League campaign after only a couple days, and Inzaghi will see this as an opportunity to put Saturday’s loss behind them.
