Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is waiting for Joaquin Correa and Robin Gosens to really come into their own and show why they were signed by the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the coach trusts that the duo can kick on this season and make a big contribution once they find the best versions of themselves.

Correa was the Nerazzurri’s final signing of last summer transfer window, with the coach recommending him from Lazio following the club ending their pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram due to injury.

The Argentine had a mixed first campaign in an Inter shirt where the sense was that he did not show why the Nerazzurri outlayed around €33.5 million for him in total, but the coach has hardly lost faith and believes that there’s plenty of time for him to show the player he was at Lazio.

Meanwhile, Gosens arrived from Atalanta during the Janaury transfer window with the clear plan that he would be the long-term heir to Ivan Perisic on the left flank.

With Perisic gone, the time is now for the 28-year-old to start showing the form that he had for much of his time with La Dea to justify the Nerazzurri having bought him, and for his part the coach feels it’s only a matter of time.
