Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that the team gave everything to fight for the Serie A title even though they were not successful in their pursuit.

Speaking while receiving the “Golden Tapir” award for his team’s failure to take home the Scudetto, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach gave his thoughts on the season just passed, and also confirmed that he’s fully committed to staying at Inter.

Inzaghi came tantalizingly close to winning the Serie A title in his first season in charge at the Nerazzurri, finishing just two points behind city rivals AC Milan in the end.

The coach has certainly shaped the team in his image, with performances in November and December and their triumph in the Coppa Italia particularly showing the impact that he has made since joining from Lazio last summer.

Ultimately, it was not quite enough for the Scudetto as the team dropped a few too many points, but the coach is still proud of what his team accomplished over the season and will stay on and fight for trophies once again next season.

“Unfortunately the Scudetto race didn’t go our way,” Inzaghi said, “but we tried to the end. Our players played well, and so we can only congratulate our rivals.”

And regarding his future, the 46-year-old confirmed that “I’m definitely staying.”
