Inter are trying to find the right solution to add one more striker to their squad amid the injury to Joaquin Correa.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who argue that the Nerazzurri must identify the right profile to add attacking depth in a difficult moment.

Correa’s injury during the Coppa Italia clash with Empoli looks as though it will rule the Argentine out of a few matches at the very least, and this comes at a bad time in the season for the Nerazzurri.

Several matches are on the horizon which are potentially decisive for Inter’s season, and they will not want to be relying only on the three senior forwards in the squad while Correa is out.

Lautaro Martinez is one booking away from suspension, and should he pick up a yellow card then Simone Inzaghi will only have Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez to call upon, while any of the trio could well pick up an injury themselves.

The priority for the club is to sign a player who will take no time to settle in, as the period of need is primarily in February, while they are not going to invest significantly in a signing.

The returning Eddie Salcedo, whose loan with Spezia was cut short, is one option to be reintegrated into the squad to make up the numbers in attack.

Furthermore, Genoa striker Felipe Caicedo could also be allowed to join the Nerazzurri either on loan or for free given that he is out of favour with the Ligurian club.

It remains to be seen what the Nerazzurri ultimately decide on as a solution to their problems in attack with Correa’s injury, but they aren’t likely to do nothing.
