Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hopeful that the team will not be weakened by the losses of key players during the summer transfer window.

Speaking in a press conference after this evening’s Serie A win over Sampdoria, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach explained that he will soon sit down with club President Steven Zhang and the directors to map out the transfer window and to avoid damaging sales.

Inter’s season has only just come to a conclusion, but there is already speculation swirling about how they will set up for next campaign.

The hope will be that they are not in for another summer transfer window like the last one in which more than one big names from the squad are sold, although at least one major departure looks to be a possibility for financial reasons.

However, according to Inzaghi, he and the club will work to ensure that competitiveness is not sacrificed going into next season.

“We will analyze what we have to do together with the club and we’ll have to keep a cool head,” he said. “A meeting is planned for the week, we know that we have a season to plan for where we hope to suffer less than this one, and we hope to keep our best players and also to add more good ones because it’s important to keep improving.”

“Between Tuesday and Wednesday we will meet with the “Pesident to analyze what we’ve done this season and to plan for the future,” he added.

Looking back on this season’s accomplishments, Inzaghi said that “We’ve had an excellent season, which would have been extraordinary if we’d won the Scudetto.”

“If I look back on it we’ve won two trophies, and then today the fans gave us a sincere and positive reception, which the squad deserves for a season in which they’ve given everything,” he added.
