Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi Concerned About Late Returns Of South Amercian Players Before Milan Derby, Italian Media Report

Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is concerned about the late returns of the South American players in his squad ahead of the Nerazzurri’s derby clash with AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the returns of the three players on duty with their international teams in South America only a few days before the derby is a worry for the coach.

Inter’s first match back from the international break will be one of the most important of their season, in the form of the second Milan derby.

Inzaghi will want his team to be completely prepared for the clash given that it is a match with potentially significant Scudetto implications.

The coach will be hoping that none of Alexis Sanchez, Lautaro Martinez, or Matias Vecino pick up an injury during their participation in World Cup qualifiers with their national teams.

Even if the trio return free of injury, it will not be long before the derby, and they are only expected at the Nerazzurri’s training ground on February 3, two days before the derby.

Depending on whether they are in condition to complete a full training session on the first day back, the players could have either one or two days of regular training with their teammates in anticipation of the derby.
