Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi reintroduced a bit of humility to the team in order to get the necessary performance to silence all speculation about his future.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the coach proved that he can get his players to be humble and grit their teeth to escape their early-season crisis in form.

There was not question that Inter needed an upswing in form and needed it soon after their poor start to the campaign.

Facing a team like Barcelona in the Champions League was hardly the kind of match in which to go in search of a result, but it was what the fixture list put in front of the Nerazzurri.

Inzaghi put out a team who were ready to suffer and dig in their heels rather than being presumptuous, and was rewarded for it.

Any speculation about the coach’s future now looks to be largely dispelled, as he’s proven that even in the most difficult of circumstances he can cope, and that he and his players can suffer through it when needed.
