Inter had a lot of negativity that they had to dispel going into this evening’s match, and a difficult match in which to do so.

However, the team produced exactly the response that they needed to, showing that they are still more than capable of playing and fighting as a unified group, and getting a massive result doing so.

Now, the Nerazzurri take these three huge points and an important foothold in their quest to reach the knockout stages of this competiton for the second season in a row.

“The team had a great game against a very strong opponent,” Inzaghi said. “We suffered together, we looked good on the pitch.”

He continued that “We won an important game, I’m very happy for everyone, from the players to the directors to the fans.”

“It’s a great evening,” he added. “Facing Barcelona doesn’t happen often.”

Asked if he thinks that this win can be a turning point for his team, Inzaghi said that “That will have be seen.”

“We haven’t done anything yet,” he continued, “we’ve only beaten one of the strongest teams in the world.”

“We can have evenings like this, thanks to these players.”

Asked how he handles criticism, the coach replied that “I only focus on my players.”

“On Saturday we had a good match for me,” he continued, “we didn’t deserve to lose.”

“What comes from outside doesn’t matter much to me,” the coach added, “I’m only concerned with the responses of my players.”

And asked about the rotation between Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic in goal, Inzaghi replied that “I already answered that yesterday in the press conference.”

“I’m fortunate to have two keepers of a very high level,” he continued.

“For Saturday I’ll make a decision with total peace of mind,” he continued, “as I will be doing for all the positions.”

“We hope to be able to recover as many players as possible by Saturday,” he said for this weekend’s Serie A match against Sassuolo, “I hope that De Vrij, Darmian, and Calhanoglu haven’t picked up any problems.”
