Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Barcelona will be a chance for the Nerazzurri to put themselves back on the right path following their poor start to the season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the coach gave his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s match, and also predicted that striker Romelu Lukaku should probably be back on the pitch sometime next week.

Inter have now lost two matches in a row following their Serie A defeat at the hands of Roma over the weekend.

Moreover, four wins from eight in the league and one from two in the Champions League are some distance away from what the team will have been expecting before the campaign began.

However, tomorrow’s match could be massive if the team can get the right result from it to answer some of the doubts that have emerged.

“Saturday against Roma was a great opportunity to get back on track in front of our fans who were with us until the 95th minute,” Inzaghi said.

“We unfortunately marked an excellent performance with two very very serious mistakes which led to Roma’s goals,” the coach rued.

“We need work and attention to detail,” he argued.

“It’s not a positive moment for us,” the coach admitted, “unfortunately we’re paying for every slight lapse, which didn’t happen last season.”

“We need to do more,” he acknowledged, “we know that tomorrow is a challenging match against a team that plays well, which has quality and is among the best in the world.”

Still, the coach argued that “We’ll have to try to play our game.”

“We will have to do well when we have the ball,” he continued.

“Barcelona have a lot of quality on the ball,” he noted, “they are masters in possession of the ball.”

“We have to try to limit them, and try to keep it for as long as possible when we have it.”

Inzaghi stressed of tomorrow’s match that “We’re aware of what we’re up against, but it can be a great opportunity in front of our fans.”

“There’s qualification from the group at stake, we’ve won one and lost one as Barcelona have, we’ll have to do our best to get the most out of this match.”

As to when he expects Romelu Lukaku to be back in the team, the coach said that “I think it will be sometime next week.”

“We will see how he and Brozovic are doing over the next few days,” he said, “I don’t think it will be too soon, especially with Brozo who just got injured.”
