Inter striker Romelu Lukaku took part in the first part of the squad training yesterday, according to Rome based newspaper il Corriere dello Sport, with coach Antonio Conte hoping to deploy the striker against Juventus tomorrow.
The 26-year-old Belgian forward, who was forced to miss the Nerazzurri’s midweek Champions League clash against Barcelona due to muscle fatigue, will be key for Conte against Juventus tomorrow, due to the suspension to former Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez.
Conte will carefully evaluate the condition of the striker in today and tomorrow morning’s training sessions, hoping that the player will be fit enough to start against Juventus in tomorrow evening’s Derby d’Italia.
Despite his absence this week, Lukaku is still favoured over Matteo Politano in the predicted starting eleven. There is also another possible change in the starting eleven tomorrow, with Conte potentially playing Danilo D’Ambrosio over Antonio Candreva on the right side of midfield. Finally, there is a chance either Nicolo Barella or Stefano Sensi will be dropped from the starting squad to make way for either Matias Vecino or Roberto Gagliardini.
