MartĂnez initially appeared to have handed Simeone Inzaghiâs side the lead late in the first half in Riyadh but was disallowed for offside against Marcus Thuram.
On the hour mark, Napoli were reduced to 10 men as Giovanni Simeone received his marching orders for a second bookable offence of a cagey encounter.
But MartĂnez finally settled matters in the first minute of added time by meeting Benjamin Pavardâs cutback from the byline to sweep home from close range.
The Nerazzurri have now overtaken Milan with their eighth triumph in the competition and sit one title away from matching Juventusâ record haul.
