Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta was asked about the Scudetto race ahead of the Nerrazzuri’s game against Genoa this evening. He believes that AC Milan are their main rivals as opposed to the ‘construction sites’ Juventus and Napoli.

Milan are hoping to put up a better fight this season after city rivals Inter finished 19 points ahead of them to clinch the 2023-24 title. Gazzetta dello Sport named the Rossoneri as the main candidates earlier today as well, highlighting the new signings and the fact they have kept their stars.

Prior to the game between Inter and Genoa this evening, CEO Beppe Marotta was interviewed by the media. Naturally, he was asked about the Scudetto race and he stated that Milan are their rivals, not Juventus or Napoli who haven’t done enough on the mercato.

“Milan are the most accredited but there are still 15 days to go. We still don’t know the true value of our opponents. But we are talking about the usual teams. Juve and Napoli are construction sites in progress and to these, I add Atalanta and Roma, all candidates for the Scudetto,” he told DAZN via MilanNews.

It remains to be seen if Marotta is right. Milan will be up against Torino this evening and anything other than a win would be a huge surprise, considering the Rossoneri’s positive record at home against Il Toro.
