Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta knows another difficult match awaits Inter this weekend as they play host to arch-rivals Juventus in the first Derby D’Italia of the 2019/20 Serie A season.

“It will be another top match just like the one with Barcelona albeit the match on Sunday is in the league, which we are leading right now,” he said in an interview with RSI.

“We know that this is an interlocutory match, so the performance against a strong team matters more than the result.”

As Marotta stated, Inter are currently top of the Serie A table and this is with thanks to new manager Antonio Conte leading the side to six straight victories to begin the campaign.

Juventus are however hot on the Nerazzurri’s heels and are just two points behind them in second place heading into this weekend’s much anticipated encounter and therefore know a victory will see them clinch top spot.
