Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “Many Clubs Interested In Skriniar, We’re Interested In Dybala, Lukaku To Join In A Few Days” | OneFootball

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has provided updates on the Nerazzurri’s summer transfer plans, acknowledging that they are interested in Paulo Dybala and that Romelu Lukaku will return from Chelsea.

Speaking at the memorial for journalist Candido Cannavó, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri CEO also spoke about the interest in defender Milan Skriniar among other topics.

Inter’s transfer market is heating up, with the club expected to start officially making signings after having spent the past few weeks negotiating to get to this point.

Lukaku’s return on a season-long loan is anticipated within the next few days, and Marotta made no secret of this fact, whilst a few other signings are also reported to be on the way.

Another high-profile signing that could be made is that of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala on a free transfer, something that Marotta acknowledged the club are thinking about.

“The situation is that we met with his representatives, but that’s part of our job,” he said.

“We need to evaluate our options, explore new paths, and Dybala is one of these.”

“But then things must come together in the right way in order to reach a conclusion, and right now we’re not at that point,” he continued.

Asked whether Chelsea could be an option for Skriniar as per reports, Marotta replied that “There are several clubs interested in Skriniar, but we do have a squad with excellent players after all.”

“We’ll evaluate things calmly,” he went on, “we’re always in the situation where we don’t want to let players go unless they ask for a transfer.”

“At at the same time, however, we must take into account the matter of financial sustainability because today’s football needs real financial balance, and the buying and selling of players is an absolutely vital tool to make ends meet,” the executive pointed out.

Regarding the expected return of Lukaku, he said that “First of all I want to thank [Sporting Director Piero] Ausilio and [Assistant Sporting Director Dario] Baccin, now we’re in the phase where we want to make new signings official.

“These are set to be days where we’re very busy in the market, we’ll conclude various pieces of business,” he added.

Marotta was also asked if he thinks that the return of Romelu Lukaku one summer after a massive money move surpasses the sale of Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United for a then-world record fee as his personal best piece of business.

The CEO replied that “Pogba’s sale was important, we always have to thank the clubs in these cases. We’re working with Ausilio and Baccin on Lukaku, we must thank President and the owners who also cooperated so that we could move forward.”

“I hope it can be concluded,” he said of the Nerazzurri’s move for the Belgian, “not in a matter of hours, but in a few days.”
