Inter captain Samir Handanovic felt that this season has been an emotional and intense one for he and his teammates, with the highlights being the two trophies they’ve won.

Speaking in the official matchday program for tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria, the Nerazzurri captain spoke about the feelings of lifting two trophies so far this campaign, and also admitted that he sometimes wishes that he knew the feeling of scoring a goal.

Handanovic won the Scudetto for the first time in his career last season, and the captain still has a chance to do so for a second time depending on how things go tomorrow evening they’ll be relying on an AC Milan loss.

Even if the Nerazzurri miss out, the 37-year-old has experienced two other firsts this season, lifting both the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia as captain.

“In the last season we’ve lifted three trophies,” he reflected, “all the result of long and hard work. Each of these matches will remain special for me, from the victory in Crotone last season [that clinched the Scudetto] to the success in the Supercoppa, right up to the most recent one.”

“This year we experienced very strong emotions,” the Nerazzurri captain went on, “after winning the Scudetto we raised two more trophies and we did it by always remaining united and giving everything on the pitch.”

Handanovic also admitted that if there is one thing that he envies as far as his outfield teammates, “I would like to get just once the wonderful feeling that strikers have when they score a goal.”
