Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has called for more focus in the episodes of games ahead of tomorrow night’s crucial Champions League group stage match versus Real Madrid.

Inter head into the match sitting in last place in group B having picked up just two points from their opening three games and are in desperate need of a win in order to have a chance of progressing to the next round.

“It was a great test of character. The glass is half full, but in the end we won and that’s what counts,” explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV about the Torino match, which was broadcast a short time ago.

He was then asked about the reverse fixture between Inter and Real Madrid and what he and his teammates need to do in order to get a different outcome than defeat.

“We have to repeat that game, but be more focused when it comes to the episodes because those change games. We have players who can make a difference.

“Everything is still open, tomorrow is very important to get through to the next round, we know that 7 points are needed and we must start making them tomorrow.”

In conclusion he was asked how Real Madrid will change without key players Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema, both of whom are set to miss the match due to injury problems.

“They are two important players, but now all the teams have difficulties with injuries, absences and Covid. We have never had the full squad either, I don’t think about who they are missing but I am focusing on what we have to do.”
