Inter’s hopes of swapping Mauro Icardi for Paulo Dybala will receive a huge boost if the Juventus forward does not join Tottenham tomorrow, according to Corriere della Sera.
The Bianconeri have agreed a deal with Tottenham worth €70 million plus bonuses, as Fabio Paratici desperately tries to push Dybala towards the Premier League.
However, Dybala remains reluctant to accept the transfer, even after speaking with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, because his wage demands are not being met.
The former Palermo star, who is still waiting for Paris Saint-Germain to appear on the scene, wants to earn €10 million annually in London, whereas Spurs have only offered €8 million.
Dybala’s image rights are proving a further obstacle to any deal, because they are owned by a third-party company who are driving a hard bargain.
The forward’s agents are then giving Spurs and Juventus an additional headache, requesting a mouth-watering €15 million commission to allow their client to move.
Tottenham only want to pay €2 million of that sum, leaving Juve with the task of providing the other €13 million.
Time is running out for the clubs to complete the move, with the Premier League’s transfer window due to close at 18.00 CET, and Inter are waiting to pick up the pieces.
