Radja Nainggolan is set to leave Inter imminently after the Nerazzurri agreed a €12 million for the midfielder with Cagliari, as confirmed by Wednesday’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The clubs continued negotiations in a meeting yesterday and a deal is virtually in place, with Inter expected to receive two youngsters – one of which will be 19-year-old midfielder Riccardo Ladinetti – as part of the transfer.

Nainggolan has made 37 appearances for Inter since joining in the summer of 2018, including a 15-minute cameo as a substitute in Saturday’s 4-3 win against Fiorentina.

He spent last season on loan in Sardinia, where he scored six goals and provided six assists to help secure a 14th-place finish in Serie A.

Inter are back in action this evening as they face Benevento at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito, having had their opening fixture of the new season postponed from two weekends ago.

Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar are expected to come into Antonio Conte’s starting XI in defence, with Achraf Hakimi also likely to make his full debut on the right-hand side of a back five.

Skriniar was linked with a move to Tottenham but is now likely to stay at Inter, unless the Premier League side come in with an improved bid before Monday’s transfer deadline.
