Kristjan Asllani and Piotr Zielinski are out of the Inter squad to face Roma, so youth team talent Thomas Berenbruch is brought along.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).
The Nerazzurri have an injury crisis growing on their hands, specifically in the middle of the park, where Zielinski and Asllani both returned from international duty carrying knocks.
Zielinski has a muscle strain after playing for Poland, while Albania midfielder Asllani picked up a knock.
The good news for coach Simone Inzaghi is the return of Nicolò Barella, who was forced to pull out of international duty for Italy in the Nations League with a muscular issue.
In order to pad out the squad, they are bringing along 19-year-old sensation Berenbruch, who has been making a big impression for the youth team this season.
He contributed five goals and one assist in nine competitive games, above all his brace in the thrilling 4-2 UEFA Youth League victory away to Manchester City on September 18.
