Inter are set to beat Atalanta to the signing of Como youngster Marco Ortelli who will link up with the youth academy, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInternews today, the Nerazzurri are adding the 16-year-old midfielder to their books.

He is currently part of the Como U17 squad but he will be joining the Inter U17 instead. It was a contest between Inter and Atalanta who were also very keen on the player.

It is a testament to the youth facilities that Inter have got in place that he chose to join them rather than a club like Atalanta where youngsters do get regular minutes in the first team if they show they could be good enough.

Inter’s academy has been in the headlines recently because Cesare Casadei is becoming the latest player to be sold by the club before getting a first-team chance.
