Inter attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni is happy to have scored his first senior goal for the Nerazzurri in yesterday’s friendly win over Red Bull Salzburg.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset after the match, via FCInterNews, the 17-year-old noted that the goal is an important milestone for him, and thanked his teammates and the coaching staff for putting him in such a good position.
Carboni has been growing into Inter’s senior team this season.
So far, the young Argentine has only been granted a few chances in the team from the bench in competitive matches.
However, considering the fact that he had only played for the Primavera side prior to this season, the fact that he is trusted at all in Serie A and the Champions League speaks volumes.
Carboni has been with Inter’s squad on their training retreat in Malta.
The 17-year-old came off the bench in yesterda’s 4-0 win over Salzburg, having also started against Gzira United earlier in the week, and it proved to be a special evening for him as he scored his first goal in a senior Nerazzurri shirt.
“This goal is important to me, and I dedicate it to my family, my mom, my dad and my brothers,” Carboni said. “I’m happy.”
The Argentine added that “I have to thank my teammates and the coaching staff, they make me feel at my best every time I play.”
