Inter Are ‘Only Potential Contenders’ For Roma Striker Edin Dzeko, Italian Media Report | OneFootball

Inter will face very little competition if they decide to sign Roma striker Edin Dzeko in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Dzeko’s future in the capital remains unclear after Jose Mourinho’s appointment as head coach earlier this month.

Dzeko would want to remain in a competitive European league if he left Roma, but there are not many clubs around who are prepared to offer him the same salary he earns with the Giallorossi.

The only club who could satisfy his demands are Inter, but the Nerazzurri would first have to sell off fringe players and reduce their wage bill.

Dzeko will hold talks with Mourinho when the Special One arrives in the summer, and until then it is unlikely that his future will become any clearer.

He has scored 13 goals in all competitions for Roma this season, providing four assists for Paulo Fonseca’s side.

The striker’s family are said to be happy with life in Rome and would prefer to stay there.
