City rivals Inter and AC Milan have moved a step closer to finalising a move to a proposed new stadium after updated plans were submitted.

The pair are looking to build a new stadium on land at Palazzo Marino and redevelop the site at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, but previous plans were thrown into doubt due to ongoing uncertainty over Inter’s ownership, as Suning look to sell.

However, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the clubs submitted a new proposal to the Municipality Council of Milan this week, providing financial assurances that all agreements would be met.

Similarly, the new proposals also detailed further plans for how the space would be developed for public use.

The Council will now assess the proposals and consider the feasibility of the plans, before relaying their decision to authorise construction and the first steps towards moving to the new stadium.
