The United States Men’s National Team won their CONCACAF Nations League match against Grenada 5-0 on Friday evening.
Scorers: Ferreira 43′, 54′, 56′, 78′, Arriola 62′
While the USMNT picked up three points by the end of full-time, it wasn’t so easy for the Americans to come out on top in Austin, Texas.
Despite dominating the pitch with 70 percent possession in the first half, the hosts struggled to find their finishing touch.
That was until FC Dallas striker Jesus Ferreira, who admitted he was in a bit of a scoring slump prior to this match, found his confidence.
The 21-year-old scored just before the break only to then secure a 13-minute hat-trick coming out into the second half. The third goal was a sublime strike into the top corner.
And with the floodgates open, the Americans then went into cruise control.
FC Dallas team-mate Paul Arriola added the team’s fourth before Ferreira brought his individual tally to four as well which capped off a 5-0 win.
The result means the USA sits second in the group with their next clash against El Salvador coming up on Tuesday.
